Solaris 5.8 (system 8)??

Has anybody test run Informix 9.2 on Solaris 8? I know that Informix as a company does not support it yet. And being a "smarty", I was trying to run a clean copy ( no database yet, just engine) on 5.8. It errors: "Fatal error in shared memory initialization" I wonder if it just me, or it really does not like new OS. (BTW: I did configure kernel, and permissions, and ...) Any ideas? Thank you in advance, Elena.
I want to add an output of online.log to my previous message about Informix
9.2 producing error on initialization:

Check the ownership and permissions on the root chunk. Should be:
informix informix -rw-rw----

If the perms are OK try reading from it (and if you have not initialized the
engine yet (oninit -i) try writing to it using dd or cat to see if you get
any errors.
