How about some variation on the following. You have to do a little
interpreting on the coltype and collength but you might be able to
build your own table for that. coltype seems to go beyond the simple
types and may involve the null or not requirement and collength has
some variation within types, but this might be a basis.

select tabname, syscolumns.colname, syscolumns.coltype,syscolumns.collength, syscolumns.colno
from systables, syscolumns
where systables.tabname[1,3] <> "sys"
and systables.tabid = syscolumns.tabid
order by 1,5
