Read on-line help and Report Runner manual. :Also you can use Crystal Reports v.5.0 Professional (check out :http://www.crystalink.com). :Igor ViewPoint is a dead end. It's beeing discontinued by Informix as far as I know. Crystal Reports ver. 4.0 was a realy bad product. Ver 5.0 may be much better. We are going to test it soon. In NewEra if you partition your application, and run your reports on a Unix server you should be able to use ascii codes for font changes and other things as we do in 4GL. On Windows it *might* be possible to send the output to a raw device bypassing the usual printer driver. If you can do that the ascii codes are again available. The fact that Informix haven't even come near understanding the need for such facilities are one of the reasons we don't yet use NewEra. It would be *so* simple for them to add support for different fonts, sizes and so on and x/y position for next printout. Why they haven't is totaly beyond me. Anyone at Informix hearing us? There is however a significant problem generally printing large reports from Windows. Very few, if any, make tools to write reports like we can currently do with Informix 4GL. We print invoices in multiple languages - every text printed changes language from one invoice to the next within the same report - and the end user have great control over invoice layout. Anyone who know a product other than 4GL that can do such a trick?
