The Internet is built on the assumption that no one will use up an inordinate amount of the resources of the system without providing content. Spammers exploit this assumption, and use up network resources for their own financial gain. We must move as strongly and quickly as possible against all spammers we see, particularly on the technical newsgroups. Please do write to the postmasters of the guilty parties. And if you are interested in getting more deeply into this, check out the news.admin newsgroup hierarchy -- it is undergoing some reorganization but is the best resource for finding out about fighting abuse of the Net. --Jamie.
