Consider, that the only thing that the certification program will do is test your knowledge of the engine. Not whether to use KAIO, Sizing of the platform, Using LVM /JFS underneath the raw partition. Issues on Striping, Kernel tuning, etc .... Please read this as Informix knowledge not Unix knowledge or now NT knowledge. Yeah, certification is nice, but if you have to foot the bill, I'd rather prefer it on training....
