I have spend DAYS trying to do this. I have no idea what to try next. I uninstalled the 64 bit sdk and tried to install the 32 bit, using the IBM note. However when I attemp to install I get a message saying it is already installed. So I unistall the 32 bit version (using rpm -ev ...) and try again. It'll then complains that it conflicts with the perviously installed 64 bit SDK, even though that isn't there, it remembers. This has been a nightmare for me. I need 32 bit esql as I need to link with a 32 bit UNIXodbc program. I need the 32 bit odbc program to read legacy cisam files. I called IBM to get a consultant to set up virtual tables to get around this problem, but they don't have anyone (in New York!) who'll do it. Any suggestions would be welcome. Machine is running Redhat Enterprise (64 bit) Kate
1) Why not connect to both sources using unixodbc ? 2) If you need ESQL/C and odbc in the same program and it wont work - why not try some creating a shared library to link them, or even go for an RPC call so its two separate processes.. 3) What about using a separate 32 bit machine as a client to take all of the 64 bit headache out of it, possibly even a windows machine (don't tell anyone I said that) 4) rpm --force On Wednesday 12 July 2006 20:48, kjuliff@gmail.com wrote: > I have spend DAYS trying to do this.
