Now that Informix owns Ardent, is this the appropriate place to discuss Ardent's UniData product? If no, does anyone know if there is such a place?

It is not inappropriate to start a discussion about UniData or UniVerse here (so no-one should jump on you for asking the question), but the majority of your audience here are not UniData or UniVerse specialists. William Rice suggested the comp.databases.pick news group as an alternative. I suspect that cross-posting between the two would not be wholly inappropriate, though c.d.p might get fed up with some of the chat-back that goes on in c.d.i on occasion (make that 'most days'). -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"

Indeed they are, but cdp doesn't tend to carry much UniData traffic either these days. There is a very useful UniData/UniVerse specific mailing list managed independently of Informix by a guy called Clif Oliver. To subscribe to the list email informix-mv-subscribe@oliver.com from a valid email address and then follow up the automated response you'll get. Cheers, Ken
