I'm trying to install a brand new copy of IDS on a new server that has never had Informix loaded before. I would like to know if anyone has run into this problem when using the installserver script. I'm installing as user 'informix' with 'informix' group with the suggested permissions, however, when I issue the command installserver I get the following error: Installation Script Installation Script Requirements: - A user "informix" and a group "informix" must be known to the system. - The product source files must have been loaded by user informix. - This installation procedure must be run by user informix. This script will change the owner, group, and mode of many of the files of this package in this directory. Press RETURN to continue, or the interrupt key (usually CTRL-C or DEL) to abort. Once I press enter, this comes up and I'm kicked out of the script: Installation Script This installation procedure must be run by root (super-user). It will change the owner, group, and mode of all files of this package in this directory. There must be a user "informix" and a group "informix" known to the system. Please rerun this installation procedure as super-user. I've noticed that I can run installclientsdk with no problems at all as the Informix user. If anyone knows what could possibly be the problem I'm welcoming your response. Should I be entering certain parameters with the installserver command? I did try running as root, then it told me to run as Informix. Yes I'm aware that it's been out of support, we are also looking into v10. Thanks.
