HELP PLEASE "cannot find message file" error

I have been running IDS 7.3 on linux 6.0 for quite a few months now with almost zero problems. Today I found my the DataBase in an "Offline" state. Upon trying to to startup the database i get an error: cannot find message file. Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG. I don't use DBLANG and my INFORMIXDIR is set correctly. I have checked my "/opt/informix/msg/us_eg/0333/ " and find 87 files. Anyone know what happend to this message file or what may be pointing in the wrong direction to cause this problem? Is there an easy way fix this ?

Here is the response by Jonathan Leffler to some one with a similar problem -------------- The best thing to do would be to check whether all the files listed in the files list in $INFORMIXDIR/etc (onlinefiles?) are actually present. There's a chunk of code in the IIUG software archives in the utils_jl package for checking this. It may report some files missing which are actually present but have been renamed.
