Having posted a number of requests over the past week about problems with
Passport Advantage (PA) and the Techinfo Centre, I was pleased that one of
the Informix support managers in IBM EMEA took the trouble to contact me
about the issues.
I went into IBM at Bedfont to visit him today.
It transpires that the IBM EMEA support people are quite conscious of the
issues that heritage Informix clients and partners are having with PA, and
are actively working with IBM EMEA PA administration in the Republic of
Ireland to try to ease some of these problems. Certainly the four I raised
during the course of the week have been investigated and, at the time of
writing, only one remains unresolved.
So the message I left with is that people in IBM EMEA are taking notice of
what is being posted on cdi, at least insofar as the things that they can
influence such as PA and support are concerned, and they are working hard to
make PA a better experience for customers and partners.
Finally, I was asked to re-iterate that any Informix user in EMEA who
believes that he or she should have access to the Techinfo Centre and its
replacements should contact the appropriate support team for their
territory. Details can be found at :
