I doubt there ever will be a direct perl5 port of isqlperl. Perl5 includes a very powerful object-oriented extension mechanism. Specific variants to interface with databases (isqlperl, oraperl) are not needed anymore. Most of the development effort has shifted towards a database-neutral interface called the DBI interface. Each major database platform would then need a database driver (DBD) written for it. As of this writing, the DBI interface is still in alpha. The informix component of it is available as a developer-only release at: <URL:http://www.hermetica.com/technologia/DBI/DBD/index.html#Informix> hope that's helpful. -kj -- Kjell Wooding : kwooding@ingenia.com Regional Manager, Western Canada : Phone: (604)472-6777 Ingenia Communications Corp. : http://www.ingenia.com/
