This is not 100 percent true. onbar can do a physical restore, then a logical restore using ontape and the logical logs. But, it does require more set-up and work for a restore. Wayne E. This cannot work! Those two utilities work with different data format, so you will not be able to restore your database! Have you ever tested it? These logical logs cannot be backed any more, ontape will not have them. If you make a physical restore with onbar the database is restored as far as the point where the first logical log file began to be backed up with onbar. But you can not restore this log with ontape because it has not it. These logs can be reloaded only with onbar.
