error -253

I try to use the apis for updating a text colon and i have the error -243 : Could not position within a table (informix.formula_desc). ISAM code: -102. ISAM error: illegal argument to ISAM function. I do not anderstand what it means Do anyone has informations about it ?

By using the API do you mean you tried to call one of the ISAM functions or the CLI API functions? If the former... DON'T DO THAT! Informix is an SQL database and the ISAM functions will not maintain all the related tables and pointers. Just use SQL! Art S. Kagel
