Tom,
Try and get the remote tape commands to work before going for ontape.
You may find that the way to specify a remote tape device is different
for NT to what the manuals say.

I've got an online 7.20 database sitting on an NT box that doesn't have
a tape drive. It sits right next to an HP 9000 with tape drive (where
our production online 7.22 database sits). I can talk from one database
to the other, ftp between machines, etc. But when I try to do an
archive from the NT box, using the HP drive (using the syntax from the
manuals -- TAPEDEV = beech:/dev/rmt/0m) I get a "could not write archive
tape." message.
Can this be done?? or am I just wasting my time trying to have NT talk
to Unix?
