I have added the cross-post to comp.databases.informix as someone there might have more to add on the subject. As to actually accessing an Informix database in Perl from Win32 - I use DBD::ODBC with the ODBC drivers that come with the Client SDK that can be downloaded from <http://www.intraware.com> - infact the SDK has all that is needed to build DBD::Informix with the exception of a C compiler so If you have a suitable compiler (Activestate use Visual C++) you *could* be able to build it yourself. I have yet to get it to work with any of the gcc variants available for Windows. In this kind of case using DBD::ODBC instead of Win32::ODBC shows a clear advantage as if you move your program to a platform that you do have DBD::Informix for (and assuming the database is the same) all you will need to do is change the connect string. /J\\ -- Jonathan Stowe http://www.gellyfish.com http://www.tackleway.co.uk
