Informix Java User Defined Functions

I have been trying to use Informix Java user defined routines, but could
not get the examples to work. I went through the informix docs and
searched the internet for solutions, but with no success. Is there
anyone who can solve this?
I have downloaded Informix version 10 evaluation just 3 days ago. The
onstat -V prints out the following:IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 10.00.TC3TL
Expiration 2006-12-31
I am using Windows XP and the default Informix install dir is:
C:\\Program Files\\IBM\\Informix. Then I created a instance named
'develop'. This formed ONCONFIG.develop config file.
According to the manual, i have made the necessary changes as follows:
1. Created .jprops_develop from .jprops.template and uncommented the
settings to:
JVP.trace.settings:JVP=2
JVP.trace.verbose:1
JVP.trace.timestampformat: HH:mm
JVP.splitLog:1000
JVP.monitor.port:10000
JVP.enable_type_cache:false
2. Enabled JVP, the following is the setting now in ONCONFIG.develop:
VPCLASS jvp,num=1
JVPJAVAHOME C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa\\jre
JVPHOME C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa
JVPLOGFILE C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa\\develop_jvp.log
JVPPROPFILE C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa\\.jvpprops_develop
JDKVERSION 1.4
JVPJAVALIB \\bin\\
JVPJAVAVM jsig;dbgmalloc;hpi;jvm;java;net;zip;jpeg
JVPCLASSPATH
C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa\\krakatoa.jar;C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa\\jdbc.jar
3. I started IDS and created 'develop' instance. logged onto as
'informix' superuser using dbaccess and tried the following command in
Env.sql file in the examples directory:
execute procedure sqlj.install_jar(
"file:$INFORMIXDIR/extend/krakatoa/examples/Env.jar", "env_jar", 0);
But, the execution failed with the following error:
IX000 - User Defined Routine error.
The above should have worked without any problem according to the
manual. The connetion to the database is ok, because I can create
create tables and do DML operations. Is there anything I am missing or
doing incorrect.
Like to get some help in here. Thanks.

1. Make sure you have a c:\\tmp directory.
2. Try changing "file:$INFORMIXDIR/extend/krakatoa/examples/Env.jar" to
"file:c:/progra~1/IBM/Informix/extend/krakatoa/examples/Env.jar"
3. Make sure you have an SBSPACE configured and online and pointed to by
the SBSPACENAME onconfig parameter.
4. If you still get the problem, can you paste what appears in the
online log (onstat -m), and the JVP log file:
C:\\PROGRA~1\\IBM\\Informix\\extend\\krakatoa\\develop_jvp.log ?
