maximum colums in table
I tried to create a table with 93 colums, and it would not complete this operation. It appeared to sit there creating the table for a long time, I was not at the console and walking someone else through running the sql statement I provided. Yes there is, and I am sure that it can be found in the appropriate Informix manual. In one database application I inherited a rather cumbersome table that has about 350 columns. So, yes, certainly you should be able create a table with 93 columns. But I believe there are other limiting factors to. The table I just mentioned has a size of about 750 bytes. This was also not too big. But I've got to presume that there is also a maximum length that a row can be. Might you be hitting a limit like this? Also, you might look into what else the engine was handling at the time, and double check the engine log for problem. Could be many things. Good luck. Yes there is a max, check the release notes as you don't mention which version you're on.
