When connecting to IIF.2000, I am experiencing connect times as long as 15 seconds. The environment that I am has less than 5 connections. The sluggish connections has through ODBC and via Ilogin utility. Below is an overview of my configuration. My client consists of: ----------------------- setnet32 v. 9.40 2.50 TC2 WinNT/2000 Prof. version Protocol onsoctcp My server consists of: ----------------------- IIF.2000 v9.21 Nettype onsoctcp,1,50,NET Any thoughts on what is causing the sluggish connections? It could be a name resolution issue. Are you using a static hosts file? Although somewhat archaic, if it there and defined properly, you know that it works. You can also plug in the IP address instead of the server hostname in setnet and see if that is any faster... ... also make sure that you have the Informix service properly defined in the services files on the client and the server and that more than one service are not using the same port number.
