7.30 vs 2000

I'm currently on IDS 7.30.UC3 and was looking at upgrade options. What makes more sense, upgrade to the latest version of 7.3x or upgrade to IDS2K? Any issues/gotchas with either that I need to be aware of ? I'm assuming a 7.3x upgrade would be fairly painless. Is that also true for 2000?
