RE: KAIO variable - usage?

I've never heard of a KAIO environment variable. Kernel IO is engine based,
not session based. In other words it is the engine that would use such an
environment variable not a session. Set whatever the variable is before you
boot your engine. There is a variable that is close to "KAIO" that is
KAIOOFF. if you export KAIOOFF=1 before booting your engine (not sure if
this holds true for 7.x and 9.x but it does for 8.x), then your engine will
use AIO instead of KAIO.
cheers

Some platforms have a KAIOON variable. I *think* older releases of HP-UX are
affected.
