I'll probably get smarter as I get to know Oracle better. But it beats me how they ignore the extent and disk layout issue. I come from an Informix world where I'm used to spreading load, planning extent sizes, etc. :-o Dirk Moolman Database and Unix Administrator MXGROUP "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." sending to informix-list ============================================================ The information contained in this message may be privileged and confidential and protected from disclosure.
