Yep. Plenty of times. Oh! You want to know what it is? Usually the installation media is corrupted. It *is* made in Ireland, after all! :0) Another dumb thought (and no offense intended): sure you're using the right commands? Informix isn't exactly consistent in their use of tar or cpio.
