Some others products provide both (direct and ODBC), > CI-Link for instance (http://www.cornut.fr) To access your Informix server from Visual Basic I can recommend two possible courses of action. 1) Use an ODBC driver. This will work and there are several ODBC drivers available that you can use. Be warned that there are certain things you can't do (or do well) via an ODBC driver. But for basic (no pun intended) functionality this is a very viable option. 2) Write a DLL using ESQL/C that is accessed by your Visual Basic application. If you have ever used ESQL/C, you won't find this technique very difficult to implement. ---------- Alex Fiore Senior Engineer Informix Software Email: alex@informix.com My comments are my personal opinion and are not the opinion of my employer or anyone else.
