There is a maximum limit for the no. of DBSERVERALIASES in 7.30 and below versions. I hope it is 10. But it depends on your NETTYPE too. We could not add morethan 8 ALIASES in 6 GB memory Box. We got create_vp: cannot allocate memory error. I don't think you need to reinitialize root dbspace. Try reducing NETTYPE and DBSERVERALISES. Ganesh. The error message was: "shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER 'dataPower'. Does it mean I have to reinitialize the root database or reboot the server?
