Re: Help with shared memory in SCO

This is a common problem on x86 systems. You will need to reconfigure your kernel so that the maximum size of a shared memory segment is 4 MB. The problem is that Informix assumes that shared memory segments will be contiguous, while SCO (and other x86 Unixes) allocate each shared memory segment on a 4 MB boundary. The only way to keep both the o/s and OnLine happy is to ensure that the shared memory segment sizes are multiples of 4 MB (and the only multiple I'd consider using is one).
