Task vs Sensor

Hi, All, IDS11.50 FC8 We normally use OS cron jobs to complete all these type of activities. We are evaluating the IDS Scheduler approach. It seems to me that Task can do whatever Sensor's function, is it true? The main goal of a Sensor is collecting the statistics data, which can also be done by a Task, correct? Yes... The sensor just has some automatic features to create the result table, and define that table. But technically you can collect data with tasks. Regards. Thanks Fernando! Initially, I was thinking that Sensor should be controlled/triggered by a predefined conditions, e.g., limits, threshold,.... A Scheduler's Task might be primarily controlled by a clock time( traditional cron job's behavior). But, IDS's definition of Task and Sensor are not what I was thinking , So a little confusions there. Frank On Tue, Aug 14, 2012 at 4:40 PM, Fernando Nunes <domusonline@gmail.com>wrote: > Yes...
