If I remember rightly, there is a switch for locking the entire table when
running DBLOAD. Your mail does not say whether you want other users
accessing the table when you dbload data into it, but generally its not a
good idea. If OTOH you run the dbload when other users should not be
accessing it, you can put a table lock on that table, so if indeed it is a
lock problem, you will not see the problem anymore. If you still see the
problem, perhaps it is something else. If you post the exact error message
you get, it may be more helpful.

Subject: dbload failure
A v. 5.x version of dbload is intermittantly failing with a 'bad row'
cannot
insert error. When run another time, it loads fine. Shouldn't be anyone
else accessing the tables and appears to be plenty of locks. Using '-r'
option and row level locking. This has been a long-time major production
problems. Any advice appriciated.
