Can anyone explain the following behaviour ?
Configuration : Ifx 9.21 UC 2 , IBM S80 AIX 4.3.3 16 Go 18 proc.
NETTYPE onsoctcp, 17, 180, CPU
When 1500 users ( that's to say 3000 connections to the databaserver) are
working, time are quite ok.
But when the first users disconnect from the application so my database,
time explose ( x 5 ).
I don't know how to explain such problem, I use 10 listener threads.
Thanks

Lo,
with that high number of connections (~3000) the database server has to do a lot
of CPU intensive work to add or remove connections. The MaxConnect product would
definitely improve your performance dramatically (see
http://www.informix.com/informix/products/servers/ids2000/22177_74.pdf ).
Hope this helps, Heiko
