Informix DBA Needed
My company is looking for an Informix DBA. I know this is not the job board but I am not the hiring manager or HR so I did not want to post there. The following is a copy of the actual posting. Also a good knowledge and experience level of CDR would be helpful thanx, Dan Job Description Senior Database Administrator (InterCall) - 106497 Description Major Job Responsibilities: Develop policies and practices which support business operations and goals Participate in design solutions and practices to meet company objectives. Database management reports on current status and raodmap plans. Installs/configure/upgrade Informix, strong knowledge of tuning and optimization. Understand application development needs and devise Informix architectural solutions to fit Work with IBM on patches, bugs, and provide root cause on all incidents Support production databases, tuning , monitoring, evaluating and recommending fixes. Maintain database backups, restores, HDR/RSS/ER replication and technologies including flexible grid Working understanding of connection manager Management of database security to include monitoring practices, encryption, database performance Strong Unix scripting environment to automate and enhance database monitoring and processes Development and testing of disaster plans, fail over, 24x7 uptime procedures Working understanding of database internals. On-call rotation supporting application releases, maintenance and weekly updates Understanding of storage, cpu and memory in relation to database performance and troubleshooting. Demonstrate knowledge of trouble shooting, performance, sql queries, identification of problems in production environments Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree with major course work in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a related field related is required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements Experience Minimum two years increasingly responsible experience in computer science or MIS to include database administration required, 5 years experience is preferred. Minimum one year lead or project management experience required, 2 years experience is preferred. Technical Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of: one program platform (AIX, LINUX) is required and one year experience SQL fundamentals (e.g.,Informix, FOCUS, IMB DB2, NT SQL Server) is required Based on area of responsibility and departmental need, knowledge of Informix Administration, performance optimizations & tuning, ETL (SSIS), is preferred Other Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required If you are interested in this position and meet the minimum requirements, apply online today!
