Continuing my tale !! (IDS 9.4 on AIX 5.3)
I have successfully restored an ontape archive from a proposed
HDR primary to a proposed HDR secondary, run the relevant
onmode -d primary|secondary commands and seen outstandinglogged transactions transfer and apply. At the point of Primary/
Secondary becoming operational my ER crashed because the
smart blob space was created (many years ago) as un-logged.
Had to trash HDR as ER is currently business critical and
(luckily) ER restarted wil no issues (and even caught up the
outstanding transactions).
My issue now is how can I convert this sbspace from un-logged
to logged. The ER Guide (all versions up to 11.7)
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v117/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm
.erep.doc%2Fids_erp_129.htm
suggests it is only possible if there are multiple sbspaces
configured where each can be dropped out of the
CDR_QDATA_SBSPACE list in turn, switched to logged and then
re-added with an IDS restart between each one. Unfortunately I
only have one space configured :-(
How can I switch this to be logged without trashing my current
ER setup ?
Keith
Any thoughts anyone ??

Supposing you´re going to rebuild your ER sbspace, you will need to stop your
ER, but that doesn´t need to rebuild your ER domain, in my opinion.
(I might be wrong, but the only structures ER stores on sbspaces are the
control queues, so if you don´t have anything in queues,
I think you might just destroy it, and build it again with the same name - but
never tryed).
Your ER configurations, replicates, are all saved on your syscdr database, and
each of your replicates participants on it´s own database tables.
