Last I checked, our SCO ports use SCO's proprietary : bigcrypt() call for the servers (and 4GL/RF, not that anybody cares about : THAT, sniff!). How did you fake that out? You didn't CHEAT or nuthin' : didya? Hmm... we have several versions of Informix products around here on our SCO boxes so I did some pokin' around just for fun. I searched the symbol tables for sqlturbo (4.10 and 5.01) and didn't see any bigcrypt(). Ditto for sqlexecd 5.01. A 4.00 sqlexecd did call bigcrypt() but it was in a static portion of the library, so it should pose no problems running on other iBCS2 systems. While I was looking I noticed that the newer 5.x products require /shlib/libnsl_s, meaning they cannot be used on Linux, at least not until someone implements this library. This would be important to anybody thinking about using 5.x engines on Linux. Well, enough about Linux anyway.
