Duncan, It really depends on what you are going to be using ODBC for. I have experienced ODBC *problems* when ODBC claims to be a standard. IE: Developing software with one Database using ODBC then switching to another Database. Some ODBC ANSI compliant Databases seem to be GREATER than others ;) . If you are using ODBC straight out of the box to develop for Informix you will not have too many problems. I know from experience if you are going to develop using ODBC against SQL SERVER or ORACLE and think your code will not have to be modified for INFORMIX because you are using ODBC, think again.
