Have you run UPDATE STATISTICS?
Logging will have an impact on performance. To compare apples with
apples, you would have to switch it off again. In other words, with
similar H/W, you can expect logging to run slower than without.
Do you have KAIO switched on? Even with it on, I can't imagine that
NUMAIOVPS set to 1 is enough.
Do you really have 49 temp dbspaces and are you using them all? I don't
know how clever the temp table fragmentation strategy is, but if it is
creating 49 fragments, then it will cause your CPU VPs to thrash around
like crazy.
If OLTP is more important than DSS, then I would move some virtual
memory over to the buffers.
