How to do this is fairly easy; it involves different TBCONFIG files, each with a different SERVERNUM and DBSERVERNAME. User connects to a specific instance by setting (in .profile, usually) TBCONFIG environment variable. I have just condensed quite a few pages, figuring it neaded a reminder; if you need more, you really should consider Informix's excellent training classes.
