I have two questions regarding the differences between IDS 2000 and Foundation 2000: 1. What is the difference between IDS 2000 with JDBC and, Internet Foundation 2000, would one be limited in comparison for Java intervention and functionality? 2. The documentation I have seen shows that the Time series datablade module is usable just by Foundation 2000, but being a datablade module, can it not be used by IDS 2000, or is it (the time series module) java based or something that disallows it from being fully functional with IDS 2000? ########### John Hibner Informix DBA Choice Hotels International

The difference is purely a marketing bundle. Foundation includes the core engine and comes with Java and several DataBlades plus the Office Spigot. IDS is just the core engine. To be honest with you, I haven't heard of anyone buying IDS then trying to buy the Java component. If they want Java, they get Foundation. > 2. Version 3.3 of the DataBlade can be used with IDS or Foundation Carlton ______________________________________________________________________ Carlton Doe Dallas, TX dbaresrc at xmission dot com http://www.xmission.com/~dbaresrc carlton at iiug dot org http://www.iiug.org
