cycle sqlturbos for new stored procedures..
Posted in 1994
Hello, all. first let me say thanks to all responses on my ps -f question from a few weeks ago. I STILL am trying to get it to work proper, the latest being ps -ef works, but sometimes. Anyway, I did discover something. Maybe you all knew this, but I learned it the hard way. On an HP 9000/800 machine, Informix Online 5.01 when an sqlturbo process comes up, it keeps the image of the Stored Procedures defined in the database. If you change the Stored Procedure, You must recycle, reboot, or whatever to re-init the sqlturbo processes. I know, there should be no permanent sqlturbo processes, because that means somebody opened the database and kept it open. I didnt write the code, I just took it over. Anyway, I just want to say a) correct me if I'm wrong, (then explain my results,) b) heed the warning, if you change a Stored Procedure you must cycle your sqlturbo processes. |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Maury French | I thought they were angels, but to my | |email maury@bnr.ca | my surprise, we climbed aboard their | |phone 214-684-2603 | starship, we headed for the skies! | | | Dennis DeYoung, STYX. | | My favorite song.--> | Used without permission, but with the | | | utmost respect. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
