Windows XP - Informix ODBC driver 2.5 (32-bit OS and 32-bit driver) Windows 7 - Informix ODBC driver 4.10 (64-bit OS and 32-bit driver) Solaris 10 server running 64-bit Informix 11.50.FC7 We are experiencing strange results running a report in Crystal reports, same version, on a Windows XP PC and a Windows 7 PC. Running the same report against the same database Instance, one PC is getting a positive number, around $400, and one PC is getting a negative number, around $-10. Has anyone seen this before; and if so, is there a fix or suggestion? We are going to upgrade the Windows XP PC, but for now we are looking for an answer. We also do not know which result, if either, is correct. Larry
Hi Larry Can you please give a bit more information about the CSDK version that you are using; for example CSDK 410 xC6. How are you doing the application migration Is this by recompiling the application on Windows 7 or same binary it used to run on the XP copied to Win7 ? Please also specify The ODBC API and DATA TYPE used for binding and reading the value. Please also specify the actual data type of the column at database server. As far as the migration, I believe that it is the same compilation just copied over. > To: ids@iiug.org > From: satyan@us.ibm.com > Subject: Re: ODBC version anomaly with report results [36696] > Date: Wed, 2 Mar 2016 16:09:31 -0500 > > Hi Larry > > Can you please give a bit more information about the > CSDK version that you are using; for example CSDK 410 xC6. > How are you doing the application migration > Is this by recompiling the application on Windows 7 or > same binary it used to run on the XP copied to Win7 ? > > Please also specify > The ODBC API and DATA TYPE used for binding and reading the value. > Please also specify the actual data type of the column at database server. > > Regards, > Satyan > > Advisory Software Engineer > R&D - IBM Information Management Division > 11200 Lakeview, Lenexa, KS 66219 > Tel: 913 599 8792 (T/L: 337-8792) > > From: "LARRY SORENSEN" <lsorensen25@msn.com> > To: ids@iiug.org > Date: 03/02/2016 01:15 PM > Subject: ODBC version anomaly with report results [36691] > Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org > > Windows XP - Informix ODBC driver 2.5 (32-bit OS and 32-bit driver) > Windows 7 - Informix ODBC driver 4.10 (64-bit OS and 32-bit driver) > > Solaris 10 server running 64-bit Informix 11.50.FC7 > > We are experiencing strange results running a report in Crystal reports, > same > version, on a Windows XP PC and a Windows 7 PC. Hi Larry, The CSDK 2.50 is very old, more than 15 years. Informix has very good track record in maintaining backward compatibility. It is unfortunate you have got functionality breakage here. Between CSDK 2.50 and CSDK 410, the ODBC driver has spec level change as well. The spec change to introduce ODBC 64bit spec was bit significant. This MSDN url has good documentation about the 64bit change. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms716287(v=3Dvs.85).aspx If you could narrow down the problem to a specific ODBC API call then I will try my level best to include the fix in the future release. If you have support agreement with IBM then you may request a special build to get the fix prior to next release.
