Re: Paranoia and Secrecy SQL -932 error

Here it is again well here is what I have. An HP Pavilion running Windows 95 4.00.950.b. The Database i am trying to access is hosted by the Oregon Water Resources Department. I can telnet to the database server i can ping them they can ping me. I am using any one of three internet connections. Sprint internet passport, Compuserve, or Teleport (a local ISP). i use Win 95 dial up networking to connect. at present the only winsock files active on my machine are winsock.dll in my C:\\windows directory and wsock32.dll in my C:\\windows and C:\\Informix\\Bin directories. My problem has been narrowed down to the informix layer. my network layer as I stated above (based on ping and telnet results) seems OK. I get the error when I try to login using ILogin.exe or when usingthe Grid program itself. Grid uses informix-net 5.01 in conjunction with powerbuilder deployment kit 4.0 to attempt to access the database using my internet connection. I consistently get the SQL -932 error when I try the Grid login. When I attempt ILogin I get SQL -932 followed by the WSANO_DATA getservbyname error. any help would be appreciated let me know if you need more info. Marty
