You have to use a relay module (like I-Net) in order to connect 4.x and 5.x tools to 6.0 server. The relay module is a part of OnLine 6.0. It means you have to set SQLEXEC environment variable to $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlrm (see Informix OnLine Dynamic Server Administration Guide, p. 4-26 - 4.28). OnLine 6.0 supports TCP/IP and IPX protocols at a server site. > Does it support Winsockets-compatible TCP/IP stacks? As far as I understand you mean a client site now. Privious versions (v4.x) of Informix Net PC used TSR-kernels of FTP PC/TCP, PS-NFS, AT&T StarGorup, Wollongong, IPX. Current versions of Informix Net PC (v5.0x) work via winsock.dll. > Is there any support for other TCP/IP through TSR's (3Com, IBM, > Ungermann-Bass, Netmanage Chameleon, Soliton, Beame & Whiteside TCP/IP, > Digital PATHWORKS, Microsoft LAN Manager TCP/IP, Novell LAN WorkPlace > for DOS or Wollongong) for DOS clients? > > What about other protocol support like Banyan Vines or > NetBIOS? Thanks, I think (I'm sure :-) ) Informix doesn't support the protocols. > Blair Kenneth Adamache adamache@vnet.ibm.com Bye. --------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Yu.
