We just had this message! It is very misleading. It turns out that
we installed ESQL/C after ONLINE instead of before. Reinstalling with
ESQL/C first took care of it. (We weren't upgrading, but rather,
installing on a new server.)

Dear all,
does anybody have experience upgrade from 7.23 UC1 to 7.30 UC2 ?,
Could you tell me how ?.
I have tried but failed, when tried to **online**, apear msg, "msg file not
found, check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG".
What i have done for upgraded is :
export INFORMIXDIR from the old INFORMIXDIR to the new version
export ONCONFIG which i use the old oneexport INFORMIXERVER
copy sqlhosts from the old one
