Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hello to the masters of IFX,
Since Sep-2000 I'm reading this newsgroup regarding performance problems.
I managed to double the performance thanks to you all.
Even if the users weren't complaining about the performance, checking some
parameters/ratios at a daily/weekly basis made some problems visible.
I started a little document with interesting points to look at.
Additions and/or correction are very appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Informix performance : where to look at
a) inf-ratios.ksh (based on onstat -p)
- UR-ratio as high as possible
- BR-ratio as low as possible
- read %cached as high as possible (>= 95%)
- write %cached as high as possible (>= 70%)
b) onstat -m
- Checkpoint Completed: duration max 3 seconds
c) onstat -P
- Data-Btree-Other ( this indicates something but I don't know what)
d) onstat -F
- Fg Writes : should be 0
- LRU Writes en Chunk Writes (which one is beter ???)
e) onstat -R
- (where to look at ???)
f) onstat -g iov
- io/wup of iao <= 1.0
g) onstat -g iof
- io/s for table chunks should be even distributed
h) onstat -g glo
