If you don't pass exactly what is expected then you crash with a run-time error. There is a parameter you can set to bypass this (RTFM to find out what it is, I can't remember.) Also, there are a bunch of new features, such as better date handling, stored procedures, triggers, that you can take advantage of. These may obviate some of your code, though it should run. I would certainly expect to unload all to flat files and reload. Actually, if you do that you should be able to jump directly to v7.1! The DBA job has grown enormously more complex, though (at least on OnLine) so watch out for all those tunable parameters.
