CPU usage at 100% Identifying the culprit

I have a process somewhere that is running the oninit process at 100%
across all 6 of the VPUs that I have set up. I know that in IDS
11.something you can look at processes inside of informix to determine
their usage using onstat -g cpu (or something like that), but is there
anything like that in 10?

Try running onstat -g mgm. It will identify any active sessions that are
using MGM memory. These are the most likely suspects. Once you know the
session id you can run onstat -g ses to see the session details including
the pid and the last two SQL statements it has run.

To identify this issues before v11 , I use the command "onstat -g act -r 1"
+awk '{ print $1}' + "uniq -c" +"sort -nk1" (this is just a draft of the
commands...)
With this , you get the number of times the threads appear running in the last
seconds . This is useful only if you have a specific session consuming all CPU
Just include a select in sysuserthreads in your shell and you have the
sessions and usernames:
unload to $vTmp1 delimiter " "
select us_tid as tid , us_sid as sid , us_name as user from sysuserthreads
Isn't 100% accurate , but's help in certain situations.
