Informix 4GL v7 PROBLEMS.

We have a system that is running v6.01 (as I understand it is not Y2K compliant). We have been trying to upgrade the application to the v7 in the past 3 months (no success). Here are the BUGS that we have found with the UD1 of version 7.20: 1) construct 2) length of substring of character > 272 3) clipped function 4) variable initialization requirement (if not then anything can happen) 5) core dump when exiting of form with large field (bug#96518) 6) large executables (from c4gl - bug#94393) Yesterday we have received the latest version (UD4). We thought that we are saved. Today I have a very different opinion (after installed it and tested it). It did not seem to solve any of our problems. IT actually create a NEW one for us. At our site, we have the database and the front-end products installed in different location. We created some soft-links under $INFORMIXDIR to point to the tools location and set the tools location in the beginning of the PATH. Thus, we can use both the database and the front-end tools within a same window. Everything was working well with the last version of the front-end products (v6.01 and v7.20 UD1). But the v7.20 UD4 is using the $INFORMIXDIR to locate the front-end products (rather using the PATH)! Anyone out there has the same problem or solution?
