Personally I like about 100 logs and try to scale then so only 75% are used during the processing day. I have no strong reasons for doing this I just find it works well for me, but like every hard and fast rule it's often changed :-) My 2c Paul Watson ---------- From: Mark D. In general I would agree. But it depends on the transaction activity and how quickly logs fill. It might take a day to fill a 5Mb log, so 1Mb could take an hour or so. The other consideration is log buffer size and logging mode. If log buffers are very large and all databases use buffered logging, then this could be the reason logs fill slowly. 2c.
