Haven't tested this, but...
create a procedure:
create procedure sp_waitlock() returning smallint;
set lock mode to wait;return 0;
end procedure;
and, in your ace report:
select sp_waitlock()
from systables
where tabid = 1
into temp t_dummy with no log;

There is no way to include the "set lock mode to wait" statement
into an ace report.
If your associate has the i4gl licence, he could convert the ace report
into an 4gl program, where you can handle that statement.
