easy way to determine if raw chunk is available?

Hi everyone. Is there an easy to determine if an existing raw chunk is free and available other than to look at each individual database and seeing if the chunk in question was being used? I mean is there perhaps something you could see in the raw chunk directly that would answer this? UNIX = 5.2 Informix=9.4 Thanks, Will
/lib/fuser <chunkpath>
Run that while the engine is online. If it returns the pid of one or more
oninit processes (or realistically any pid at all) then the file is in use.
