Any helps are very appreciated. There are several things that you can do to learn about this: Take the "Performance Tuning" class, offered by the Informix training team. See the schedule at http://www.informix.com/training . Read Liz Suto's industry-standard book "Performance Tuning", published by the Informix Press. You can find a link pointing to it at the site for the International Informix Users Group at http://www.iiug.org . Attend the Informix Worldwide Users Conference sessions on performance tuning. There are two scheduled sessions that have the word "Tuning" in the title, and a host of experts who can share "real-world" experience. One good place to meet them is at the User Group party on Wednesday evening. If you can get here within the next two hours you can attend a Tutorial called "Monitoring and Tuning" presented by one of Informix's best. The "bottom line" is that there is no royal road to tuning. You will have to build a baseline measurement and then compare the results of your efforts to it, one change at a time, over and over, forever.
