Informix transactional replication

Hi all! Since I'm new to Informix, I'd like to get quick info to take furder steps in learning about and finally setting up transactional replication in a way that is supported on MS SQL Server. Can transactional replication based on row insert, update and delete be setup on Informix DB as source of replication so target would be some other kind of RDBMS (mySQL possibly). Thanks in advance

No. The only way to replicate between IDS and some other database server than another IDS instance would be to use a third party replication product or to use the Informix Datablade API to create your own primary access method to replicate all changes. Setting up two IDS instances to replicate is very easy and there are two flavors of replication. HDR (High Availability Data Replication) replicates the entire server instance while ER (Enterprise Replication) is more flexible and is set up at the table level and you can control what rows are replicated and to where. Kagel But it does pose an interesting idea: since ER already is SQL based it seems possible not only to send SQL to targets but also capture it, let's say in a file, in ANSI SQL flavour, and use that on other RDMBS'es. vNext++ maybe? :o)
