Almost anything is possible. See below for comments.
The answers may vary depending upon which Informix backup tool (ontape,
onarchive, onbar) is being used.

Should be possible. However, you would not want to do so unless the Day
2 backups were unreadable or unavailable.

Hopefully, not. The purpose of the dbspace and logical log backups is to
provide recoverability to a point in time.
It is not intended to selectively replay some updates. Therefore, you
must restore from dbspace backups and
apply subsequent logical logs until you reach the desired stopping point.
